Buy it once.
Yours to keep.
The whole app on your Mac.
- Everything: cull, library, develop
- 100 critiques in the box
- A year of free updates
- No subscription, ever
- RAW and JPEG, straight off the card
$0.10 a photo whichever you pick. Bought inside Fovea, and they never expire.
One honest read
of one photo.
Ask for one when a shot isn't working and you can't tell why.
- It gives you a second opinion
It rates the photo out of 10 and points out what's good and what's letting it down.
- It coaches the edit
In develop it walks you through fixing what it flagged: which slider to move, roughly how far, and why that helps.
- It never edits for you
No one-tap fixes, no generated pixels. You move every slider yourself, which is the only way it sticks.

Good depth down the lane. The blue cargo bike is the one bit of colour and holds the foreground. The sky at the far end is blown to white, and the flat overcast light leaves the brick dull.
A year of updates,
in plain words.
-
Day 1 to day 365
Every update is free.
Fixes, features, new cameras. As it ships.
-
Day 366 onwards
Nothing happens.
No nag, no countdown, no feature switched off. Your copy keeps working exactly as you got it.
-
The next big version
A separate purchase.
New features, new price. Skip it and you lose nothing.
Fair and square.
Yes, once. Fovea is a one-time $39.99 purchase and then it's yours. But you don't pay to find out if you like it: run the whole app free for 14 days, no card and no account. Buy it when you're ready to keep going.
The full app, yours to keep: importing straight off the card, culling, the library, and the whole non-destructive develop room. Plus 100 critique credits to start, which is $10 worth at the going rate, and a year of free updates. Tax is already in the price.
Nothing. The app you have keeps working exactly as you received it, for good. No nag screen, no countdown, no feature switched off, no forced upgrade. You simply stop receiving new versions. When the next big version ships it's a separate purchase with new features in it, and skipping it costs you nothing.
An honest read of one photo: a rating out of 10, a plain-words summary, what works and what to fix, each pointing at the spot in the frame. Then, in develop, it coaches the edit: the slider to move, a range to try, and why. It never moves a slider for you and never generates pixels.
$0.10, and the first 100 are free with the app. One photo is one credit, and that credit covers its critique plus all the coaching that follows, however many times you come back to that shot. Culling, the library and editing never cost a credit.
Because a card payment for $0.10 is silly. A roll is just prepaid film: $5 for 50, $10 for 100, $20 for 200, always at the same $0.10 a photo. No bulk discount, so there's no reason to buy the big one unless you want to. Credits never expire.
No, and nothing auto-charges, ever. You buy Fovea once and it's yours. Credits are bought when you want them, never on a schedule. Fovea is a tool you own, not a bill you pay.
Only for a critique, and only that one photo. Importing, culling, the library and every edit run entirely on your machine. When you ask for a critique, Fovea sends a downscaled JPEG copy of that frame, never your RAW, and never your library.
Nothing you made goes away. Every cull, rating, tag and develop setting lives in a sidecar next to your original on disk, rendered on the fly and never written over the RAW. Buy the app to keep culling. Critiques just wait until you have credits again.
Start with 14 days.
Decide after that.
